My First Royalty Check! // Giveaway

Last night when I got home from my totally amazing trip to Nashville (more about that later this week), I had something very wonderful waiting for me at home…
My first royalty check!
It’s a very thrilling experience to look at a piece of paper and realize that, yes, indeed, my books are selling! They are out there making money. People are actually willing to spend money on something I wrote. The amazing-ness of realizing my dream to be an author hit me all over again.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me by buying the book, reading my blog and urging me a long. I can’t even tell you how thankful I am for y’all. God has blessed me so abundantly with giving me the support system that I have, and of course for creating me as a writer in the first place. 🙂
To show my appreciation to all you blog readers of mine (because, seriously, you make writing so much more fun, even if you never buy one of my books), I’m going to throw a celebratory giveaway, with a copy of my autographed book as the prize. 🙂 If you haven’t noticed, I like doing giveaways for y’all! I feel as if giveaways help me include y’all more with my daily writing life, plus they show my gratitude for you all. And sorry, but the prize can only be sent to USA addresses. :-/
And this giveaway is only up for a few days, but you can come back and get another point each day. I’m just doing a free entry, so you don’t have to jump through any hoops to enter. Of course, if you want to spread the word, that would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Congratulations on your first royalty check!! I know that must be thrilling. And not just having the money, but the realization that your work is selling. Of course, it probably would have been nice to have that BEFORE the trip to Nashville. 🙂 I'm glad you had a good time and I'm looking forward to hearing about it. Though I got to see some of what y'all got to do through the pictures Buddy's been posting. It looks like it was a great time and I'm thinking if I ever want to tour Nashville, Buddy would be the one to go tour with. Like I said in a previous post, we tried spending a couple hours just driving around Nashville on a “see what we can see” quick trip and couldn't find anything of significance, other than finally spotting the Ryman down an alley street. Have a great Monday, Aidyl!!

I can imagine how exciting that is! It's like proof of a dream come true, right – knowing people are reading your writing! It's surely more exciting then the actual money, yes? Congrats, my dear!

Yes, having my adopted parents as the tour guides was amazing! And then 'Uncle Dave', who's one of my adopted dad's best friends and used to live in Nashville with them, was there too, so that was extra cool.
And goodness! Yes! My first royalty check! So thrilling 🙂 And right, not just the money either, by any means!

Right! i think one of the most exciting things was seeing how much money the books had earned altogether and thinking “Oh my goodness! People spent this much for something I wrote?” 🙂
