Monday Randomness

I just had a lot of fun going back and reading through my posts that I’ve written during the past three or so months (and finding lots of typos :-/).

‘Reliving’ Nano just now was a lot of fun. Accomplishing the task of 50,000 words in one month was one of the highlights of my year. It was seriously fun. As in, I am already looking forward to doing it again this November. I actually dreamed about it a few nights ago. Yep, I’m that kind of girl.

I have decided that I am a random person… And I like it.

I like walking. I like eating healthfully (most of the time). I enjoy checking things off of a list. I spend the least amount of time doing my hair and getting ready for the day that I can and still look nice and neat. I like timing myself. I enjoy going barefoot. I can spend hours and hours working alone on my writing/editing without getting bored or lonely.

Forty-five out of fifty times I choose pretzels over potato chips (that’s my guess, at least). I like hiking. Everything is story material in my mind. I enjoy having gum in my mouth, even if I’m not chewing it. Life without music would be strange. Life without cooking would be dull. Life without books would seem almost meaningless.

For some reason fruit and flowers remind me of each other. I have decided I like the color pink. Working with my hands is something I enjoy. I’m looking forward to kidding season being here in about two months, but I’m not really looking forward to milking…

There’s a saying that goes “Who/where you are going to be in five years is determined by two things: Who you spend time with and what books you read”.
I’m taking an “unofficial fictional reading break” and actually enjoying it. I just finished two John Maxwell books in about a weeks’ time. I have fun learning. {Of course I don’t think fiction is wrong (by any means!), but I do want to get more non-fiction reading done, and this is the best way for me to do that.}

I can listen to the same songs over and over again when writing a certain part in a book, but if I hear the song later on, I might go crazy. Actually, so far I’ve found one cd that I’ve been listening to since October, literally hundreds of times (I’m guessing, at least for some of the songs), and I haven’t gotten tired of it. Longest time period for a cd that I listen to over and over again yet. 🙂

When I’m writing, I’ll often just stare at ‘nothing’, but really I’m going over a sentence and/or paragraph in my head, trying to get it just right. Danger to anyone who talks to me during one of these moments. (Actually, I don’t think I’m too bad, I just hold up my hand for silence and if that doesn’t work, then I frantically ask them to hold on and be quiet for a moment.)

Ok, this post is getting a lot longer than I had planned. I’m still away from, so therefore I’m still posting on my phone. I hope it doesn’t look too weird.

I hope you all have an absolutely great Monday! 🙂

I had fun reading this post! I am like you in ways, unlike you in others. I love to go barefoot, hate to wear shoes, and if I have to I wear flip flops.
I don't like lists myself. I would rather just spend my time doing whatever it is I am wanting done.
I can spend hours writing and not get lonely or bored as well.
Not a pretzel person, gum is occasional and hurts my teeth oftentimes,
~Life without music would be strange.~ Oh yes! 🙂
John Maxwell I have heard of, but can't remember if we have any books by. Reading and listening to lots of Ray Comfort. He's a favorite here, along with David Wilkerson and Paul Washer.
Hope all is well by you! 🙂

Life without music would not only be strange, for me it would be unbearable. Music is a part of my life in the way that writing is in yours. Very important and I can't imagine my life without it. If I go more than two days with picking up my guitar or sitting down at my keyboard, I start getting a little depressed. It's definitely one of God's greatest gifts. Awesome post.
